The Deetectives bring home the trophy at the Inter-Company Rowing Regatta

This weekend, Imrandd’s rowing crew the ‘Deetectives’ took to the River Dee for the annual Inter-Company Rowing Regatta, and came away with the win.

Heather Buchan, Mark Knowles, Joshua Newton and Richard Gibson went into the competition with one goal: win a single race and call it a success. What followed was a fantastic display of teamwork, determination, and apparently some natural rowing talent none of us knew existed.

The crew had a point to prove. Seven years ago, Imrandd’s first attempt at the Inter-Company Rowing Regatta ended in last place. This year, the Deetectives put that one firmly to bed.

A huge thank you goes to cox Craig Sadler for his time and patience on the water, and to Thomas Roulson for his support as team manager throughout.

Thanks also to Aberdeen Boat Club and sponsors Ithaca Energy for continuing this brilliant tradition and bringing together teams from across the north-east, and congratulations to every team who took part this year.

A seven-year redemption story, and one for the Imrandd history books.
